Trans4m Transportation Odyssey in GR
The Michigan Transportation Odyssey is a three-day journey beginning 3/21 in Detroit, stopping in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, then ending in Traverse City. Along the way, a group of Trans4M members will demonstrate the challenges and opportunities of Michigan’s passenger transportation system.
The group will arrive in Grand Rapids on Thursday, 3/22 at The Rapid central station. The public is invited to a special event at the Rapid Conference Center, beginning with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by a panel discussion at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Heartwell will provid the welcome. Tom Carper, Amtrak board chair is the keynote speaker for the evening. Rick Chapla of The Right Place is a special guest.
Conversations will our state legislators on Friday, 3/23 will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon hosted by Disability Advocates of Kent County. These activities will take place at the New Hope Baptist Church, 130 Delaware SW, Grand Rapids. The public is invited at a cost of $10 for lunch.
